Being Conservative

If you are regular to this blog, you probably know by now, that I try to keep it fun, entertaining and up-beat. Posts are usually about recent happenings around the homestead or trivial things that are on my mind.

But as you know, this is an important

ELECTION YEAR. …

And the rhetoric is heating up.

I am heating up as well!!

So in the next few weeks and months, you may see a few pre-election posts.

I hesitate to add political stuff to my blog. I want this to be a happy place that represents my family's life.

But elections are a reality in life.
They are a privilege, not to be taken lightly.

SO...
SINCE THIS IS MY BLOG,

If I feel the need to write-
well, I’m gonna write!

LATELY...
My Heart is Heavy…
Feeling Burdened,
And weighing me down.

SO I'VE DECIDED TO BARE MY SOUL...
RIGHT HERE..
ON SIMPLE AND DELIBERATE.

BUT FIRST..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Disclaimer....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Remember, it’s
MY blog.

I reserve the right to blog about whatever is on my heart and mind.

You should know...
I’m a Conservative.

If you are not a conservative,
please, feel free to read anyway.
You may be prompted to look at things a little differently.

 However, if the fact that I’m a conservative offends you…..well, It’s your privilege to leave this page.
 Please don’t leave any nasty comments.
 Because as the CEO (moderator) of this blog, it’s my privilege to simply not publish your comments.
 This is Not a forum to debate anything.
Just a place for me to express myself.

 Remember,

It’s my blog!

Please be assured, none of the political posts will be nasty like many (okay, probably MOST) liberal blogs.

I’m not an angry person.

But on many days, I’m very frustrated.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Currently, my biggest frustration is the fact that there are people close to me who do not share my conservative views. Yes, every person has the right to believe what they choose. But they claim to be Christian, and yet, for some reason are blinded, or perhaps brain washed by the media. I don’t know their reason why. But whatever the reason, it deeply saddens me because we don't share the core values that produce a firm foundation for a
deep and meaningful relationship.
Do you have people in your life that have views, totally contrary to your own? How do you respond to them?
 I’d love to know, because I’m clueless.
 My loved ones are so busy screaming their point of view at me,
that they have never really asked me why I’m a
CONSERVATIVE.
Therefore, today’s post is entitled…
Why I choose to be a CONSERVATIVE..
so here goes...
I believe
the Scriptures are the infallible Word of God. They are the guide for all of life and an insight into the character of God. I believe that when we live in accordance to the Word, blessings will follow. But when we live in opposition to the Word, there will be a price to pay. I believe this to be true both personally and as a nation. I believe that our nation that was founded on Christian/Judeo principles and has been richly blessed. (Unfortunately, these principles have been forgotten or ignored by many.)
Politically speaking, I call myself a conservative.
I believe in limited government involvement in everyday life, and limited and conscientious spending of the people's hard earned money. (aka good stewardship) I believe in the Constitution and the wisdom of our forefathers who mapped out the plan for America where freedom for all was key. I believe in the sanctity of life and that abortion is the same as murder. I believe marriage was established by God for 1 man and 1 woman. I am pro-marriage, pro-family and pro-life.
Because I believe in the *WHOLE WORD OF GOD, the following is the basis for choosing to be Conservative:
Leviticus 18:22 “Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable…… Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations that I am going to drive out before you became defiled."
Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (For me, putting God’s values above any policy created by man is important)
Deuteronomy 30:19 This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you Life and death, blessings and curses. Now Choose life, so that you and your children may live.
Genesis 2:24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
*2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
If you agree me, please  leave me a comment (for some moral support), and feel free to share these thoughts with friends and family.  Until next time..
*Most of the photos in this post are not my own, but rather pics I found on the internet.
