Jack's Ball

I  cared for my favorite babies the other day.
They keep Grandmummie VERY busy!  We always try to break up the day and get outside.  It usually helps a certain 2 year old to be ready for a nap in the afternoon, too!

We usually go check out the chickens.  We can waste a lot of time in the chicken yard.  Watching chicken behavior can be very mesmerizing.

Even Baby Rhea enjoys the chickens, even though she's usually frightened of everything.

These warm spring days even get Josie wound up!

If only Pap Pap was home to take this boy for a tractor ride!....But someone 'round here has to work to pay the bills.

Jack got his football and wheel barrow out to play with.  (He likes to push the football around in the wheel barrow.)

At some point, Josie stole the football.

Let me tell ya, ol Jack was not happy about that.

He marched right over and got his ball back!

The look on his face is priceless...

Jack brought the ball back, plopped it in the wheel barrow.  He looked up at me and said, "Jack's ball."

Too funny!!

Projects that have been keeping me from blogging...Project #4 Crafty Idea

The last several posts entitled

Projects that have been keeping me from blogging

have been
Workshop Projects.

This post is similar.

I found a scrap piece of wood in the shop and had the perfect plan for it.

First, I cut it to the right length using the scroll saw.

Then, I added a t-cup hook about every inch.

I sprayed it with a can of sealer I also found.  And there you have it!

A handy dandy necklace rack!

I screwed that puppy to the wall behind the bathroom door along with the earring rack I made several years ago from an old picture frame and some screen.

I enjoy beading...
Can you tell?

(Ironically, I've never blogged about beading...hmm)

Projects that have been keeping me from blogging...Project #3....Cut outs

The third Project that has been interfering with my blogging is.......

Scroll Sawing...

While helping hubs in the shop with
Project# 2....

I got a lesson on how to use the scroll saw.

and the drill press (for making holes)...

and this gadget for smoothing the rough edges.

My first, beginner projects....

I made Valentine hearts for the grandbabies

Once painted, these will make cute little ornament/name tags for Christmas gifts!

Now I'm dreaming of all the things I want to make...
If only I had the time!

Do you have an unusual craft or hobby?
Do tell.....

Projects that have been keeping me from blogging...Project #2....From the Workshop

Hubs helped me with
Project #2
as well.

We have been working at cleaning out the junk in our basement.
(another project we'll talk about another day),
We've also been trying to use up the stuff we already have...
everything from frozen and canned goods...
to junk parts, pieces of lumber....any random stuff taking up space in our house.

We had some old window panes taking up space in the work shop so with the help of my handy hubby,
we transformed them into something functional.......
Take a look...

Can you guess what he's building?

How 'bout now?

Getting closer to the finished project.

Walah!  A little greenhouse.  And YES, I helped.  I had to hold things ya know.  I even got to use the nail gun.

P-O-W-E-R!

  Gotta tell ya girlfriends-
I enjoyed it.

 This was made with
stuff just lying around the shop.

We did however have to buy a light for it at the local big box store.

I have to tell ya.....
It didn't take long at all for me to get some seeds planted.
And within days, I had little sprouts.

Today, I have lettuce that will soon be ready to sample.

Very soon, I will have seedlings started for the garden.

Can't wait to get them started!

Stay tuned for Project # 3....

Until then....

Projects that have been keeping me from blogging...Project #1

Normally over the winter months, I have some free time to do some of the things I like to do, like make some cards or scrap some pages.  But this winter, a variety of things have kept me so busy, that I haven't even been able to keep up with my blog.

So before the gardening season is officially upon us, I thought I'd share with you a few of the projects that have been literally consuming my life.

Project #1-Painting and Redecorating

Hubs took off work for a few days to help me paint.  (or perhaps I helped him)  We painted our bedroom and bathroom as well as my Bubba's old room.  All were in need of a makeover.

Our Supervisor

Evidently, Josie got tired just watching us!

After

Caricature of hubs

Made use of an old picture frame by adding pics of
the grand babies

I still have a few finishing touches to do yet, including a  headboard.  But the worst is done, and we are enjoying our new bedroom and bathroom.

Bubba's old room is now a
Playroom for the babes

Before
Ya gotta love that copper color.
It was the backdrop for all things camo!!

After

I have to admit,
I am not a blue person.

But I wanted to decorate this room with all the stuff that has been living in boxes in the basement for YEARS.  Stuff that not only belonged to my kids, but to me as well.  After taking a survey of all the stuff, I decided on a very pretty blue that I'm actually really pleased with!

Hubs made me this lovely shelf to
 house all the memorabilia.

This table and chairs belonged to me when
 I was a child,
as did the bookshelf next to it.

Ah yes, The Kitten Twins, one of my favorite books.

So there you have it.  The first project that has been hindering my blogging.  Stay tuned for the
rest of this story!

Gratitude Journal Entry#8-Friendship

In these hectic and busy days, it's hard to juggle all of our responsibilities, obligations and family relationships, giving each the attention due them.
It seems that there is always something vying for our attention.  I know myself, it seems I'm so busy following through with the things on my

Must do list

that it doesn't leave much room for the things on the

Want to do list
(including keeping up with this blog)

Despite all of this, I've added

Friendship

to my

Gratitude Journal.

I may not have a lot of time for friends, but I'm thankful for the few friends I do have.

This is my friend Barb and I a few years ago while on a

Pennsylvania Wine Tour

Though neither Barb or myself are drinkers,
we do enjoy a little wine from time to time.

We had a great time that day.  It was a bus trip, so we were able to chat and catch up in between stops.
Barb and I don't get to spend near enough time together.  But when we are able to clear our calendars and get together, it's as if time hasn't passed.  We just pick up where we left off.

Recently, we had a chance to catch up.  Barb had invited me to her house so she could share the
fruits
of  what she referred to as her new toy.

She had just gotten a new Vitamix and was anxious to share with me her latest love.....

SMOOTHIES..Yumm!

We enjoyed our smoothies and a little snack over some
catch- up -conversation
in her lovely sunroom.
(on a sunny day I might add)

Barb and Belle

I love the times we are able to share together and catch up on our busy lives.
And I especially love that no matter how much time passes in between visits,
we just pick up where we left off!

In case you're wondering, our next get together is a cooking class at our favorite
Kitchen Shoppe.

Should be a good time...I'll keep ya posted!

Do you have a Barb in your life?
I hope so!
I'd love to hear about her!

Grateful for a great friend,
Tammy
